Supercharge sounds INCREDIBLE at 5000+ RPM. It's legal in California too! LOVELY. If you're looking for a guttural sound, you won't get it. It's all in the SC baby! Slows down a bit at low revs but feels good at high revs (don't know PS boost, haven't tested it)

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

The awesome air intake is best in the Ram Air Kit

I've used direct air intakes on several cars over the years and typically pay between $200 and $400 each time. This is my first K&N installation although I always use K&N filters. I have to say that the stainless steel tube has a clean cut and everything works as it should. And believe it or not, the cut off pipe from the air intake really helps. Perfect fit for my 2006 Mini Cooper S.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Not bad

Great performance and fuel booster

I have owned my Mini Cooper S since 2006 and have just recently installed this cold air intake system. I immediately noticed that the car "breathes” much better than before and all revs are gone, the red line is bright in comparison. And it makes a great sound after 4000 rpm. Gasoline consumption has not been measured yet, but the On-board computer shows the best results since installation.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Sounds great on a supercharged car

I had modified my 2006 Cooper S slightly and this inlet replaced an AFE inlet that literally blasted a hole in the inlet pipe AFTER the filter. So I can't attest to an increase in performance because so much was done to the car and it replaced the already retrofitted intake manifold. What can I say, it sounds fantastic! The supercharger is much louder than even with the AFE intake.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Guard

K&N Typhoon CAI System - Excellent results for 2006 MINI Cooper S

I bought a CAI Typhoon system for a 2006 MINI Cooper. Sorry, with compressor. Delivery was on time. It was a very simple setup. I'm sure the HP increased a bit, but probably by 5 HP. The real benefit comes in combination with the larger manifold, free-wheeling spool and tailpipe, allowing the engine to move more air through the intake/exhaust system. However, the "howl" of the compressor under load at high revs sounds quite nice! Yes, and under the hood is very nice. I would recommend this…

  • Sleek design

Then there was light

I DIY for small things. Installation was straightforward, although the first disclaimer before step 1 advised getting the codes before disconnecting the battery negative terminal. The battery cable did not have to be disconnected. The hard case (aluminum tubing) feels flimsy for a $315 kit (made in China). The instructions said to install the larger of the four clamps per connection, but the clamps were all the same size. The short silicone hose connecting the inlet was difficult to attach. Use

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • So-so
