Excellent visibility. Not very durable.

Works as it should. Gives you many different angles to hold the torch and still see the arc. Transparent cups are not very durable. I have a couple of weeks and a cup has already cracked the entire length of the body. But I've used this cup on EVERY weld I've made over the past few weeks just to test it out. I'll probably start saving the rest of the cups for the scenarios where I'm in a really tight spot where I really need vision. I would still buy again.

Hot residue in welding equipment

Received yesterday, tried it today, immediately threw it in the bin. Without a ton of gas flow, this wouldn't even protect the tungsten from oxidation, let alone the weld. The cup does not fit properly, it feels like it will fall off by itself. The only advantage is the diffuser. When I went back to ceramic mug #8 it worked. Other kits I've seen have a large o-ring pad that allows you to use two o-rings. It uses the same diffuser as other gas lens kits. Maybe that's the difference. But don't…

Terrible product, completely destroys stainless steel welds.

Something is wrong with these gas lenses, they get sticky and foul the weld. Both 1/16 and 3/32 did the same thing, it wasn't an accident. I first used them for welding stainless steel. My welds always came out grey. I've tried all sorts of variables, I've watched tons of YouTube videos to improve my technique, thinking I'm doing something wrong all the time. I was going crazy, it discouraged me as a welder, I thought stainless steel wasn't for me. It's good that I finally have a pro on my…

I like it ! in welding gear

This is my first pyrex tip kit so can't compare to others. I was happy to see that the kit was very well bubble wrapped for shipping and then everything was in a nicely organized plastic box. I compared the gas lens to my old one on the right. Your lens is all brass, where my old copper thread is, it's okay. The pyrex is located next to the #8 alumina nozzle. The glass is 1.9mm or 0.075 inch thick. I don't know if more expensive kits have thicker glass. I'm glad it comes with 4 attachments in…

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Big and bulky

I had to return it, it is unusable

There are a number of problems with this set. First, the O-rings don't form a tight seal on the glass, allowing the glass to move too easily and the shielding gas leaking out sideways. I have several gas lenses from a more reputable source (like the Furick Cup) and the difference is clear. The correct design has fewer threads towards the center of the collet body and instead has the correct diameter bore so that the o-ring can seat and form a seal with the cup. This product is only threaded so…
