Clearly much better than overpriced OEM filters. Fits the same, looks the same. Is the quality the same? Do filters work as well as OEM? I don't think there is a way to find out.

I have never written a review online. I have 2 Winix 5500-2 machines which are fantastic. These alternative filters fit PERFECTLY! I'm very happy I saved $20 compared to an OEM product. I will buy 3 more kits to install for a year. Please keep this option open for consumers!

Sealed in good plastic packaging. Fresh and new when you take it out. The size is perfect for Winnix 5500-2 at half price. The HEPA filter is real. The VOC activated carbon filter is slightly different (finer grit, not as full as OEM, slightly cheaper) but fits perfectly. No complaints. No dishonest orders or gassings. Great find!

Contrary to other reviews, there is no indication that this product was made in Texas, USA. The HEPA filter and the activated carbon filter are packed in a cardboard box, which clearly indicates that the product is "MADE IN CHINA". The filter fits perfectly although it is a bit flimsy compared to the original Winix. There is more carbon in the activated carbon filter, which disturbs the airflow somewhat. The product I received had the correct width measurement but was about half an inch compared to the actual length shorter space in the 5500 - 2. The gap at the top is huge. This means that a very significant portion of the airflow will follow the path of least resistance and bypass the filter instead of going through it, defeating the entire purpose.
