This jacket is not waterproof

I bought this jacket because it was advertised as waterproof. I specifically didn't buy a "water-resistant" one. Today I wore it on a hike for the first time and as you can see in the picture it is not waterproof. I came back from a hike soaked. I want to give this product a zero as it does not work as advertised. DO NOT BUY THIS if you are going to be out in the rain for a long time.

Pros
  • COMPACT AND PACKAGED: All purpose waterproof jacket with attached hood for full rain protection and a compact design that packs into your own chest pocket. Best when the last drizzle has subsided.

Sauna jacket best in Clothing

Although this jacket has a mesh lining, it is only on the front near the zipper. The rest of the interior is open to interior trim that looks more like a sauna than anything else. The inside of the sleeves stick to my arms at the first sign of sweating, and that's when I'm wearing the jacket in cold temperatures (in the 40 to 50 degree Fahrenheit range). The jacket uses Velcro straps to secure the rain hood and uses the same means to attach an inner pocket to store the jacket on you. I got…

A roasted jacket that beats its weight class.

At this price point you probably won't find a more packable rain jacket than this. With bold colors and designs, lightweight design, a stowable hood and roomy pockets, this jacket far outperforms its weight class. The jacket packs easily into a softball-sized bag, so you can take it almost anywhere without being bulky. Once you've unpacked it, you can tighten your wrists however you like, and with the zip and hood closed, you'll stay dry and warm. Which brings me to one of the few issues with…

Fits great and keeps you dry!

First of all I have to say that I like it. Very glad I got it! There are a few things I'd like to change and I'll elaborate on those, but overall I think this is a solid purchase. Height: I'm 6ft 4in and about 340lbs. The sizing was confusing when I bought it so I kept looking at other reviews etc to make my guess. I almost bought the 3XL but I'm glad I went for the 4XL instead. A little big, but not disadvantageous. In fact, it was better and easier to breathe. So if you're a big guy, there's…

All in all a good rain jacket for many years to come

Bought this raincoat for my teenage son. Part of me wishes the raincoat I bought for him had more substance, but that's not the point of a spring raincoat. It doesn't have a soft lining because it shouldn't be. We live in Virginia which usually (not this year!) has few warm/hot spring days but heavy rain. So even your lightweight hooded winter jacket will be too warm for this weather, but a spring jacket that doesn't keep out the rain won't work either. We hate lugging around umbrellas, so this

Unlined sleeves: It Matters

This arrived quickly, fits as expected and is water repellent as advertised. Times: unlined sleeves. I live on the coast of central Oregon. It's mostly wet all the time. So you tend to make decisions when you go out based on whether or not getting wet is important to you. If you care, put on your big ol' coat and go. If not, just go out without a coat and get wet. The older I get, the less I like the "I'm just getting wet" option. So I figured it would work well in scenarios where I would…

but mostly it's been like this since I put it on for the first time.

I've had this jacket for a little over a year now and it's definitely not a raincoat. The jacket is only waterproof for very short periods of time. If I put it on in the pouring rain when I walk out of my car to my office building, the whole journey up to the time I arrive at my workplace takes less than 2 minutes, the water is already getting wet and the inside of the back the jacket gets wet. starts to get wet. Unfortunately I discovered this after the return window, but it's mostly since I…
