Hot and sticky in the sun compared to Tamiami II

I was looking for the perfect sun protection shirt - I had high expectations but didn't find this shirt airy and cool. The Columbia Tamiami II men's long-sleeved shirt seems cooler and preferable to this one. I have 82 degree weather with 60 percent humidity - any higher temperature or humidity from here and I will definitely wear the Tamiami II in the sun. The absolute best material I've found for t-shirts this summer is the Under Armor Playoff Polo. Shirts, and that's the standard by which I…

Ideal for fishing in the sun

If I fish for hours and never forget to put on sunscreen or always forget to reapply, I usually get sunburned. I bought this shirt to protect myself from the sun as it protects from the sun and hasn't burned since. In addition, it is very light, comfortable and will keep you cool in the summer as you would expect from a long sleeve shirt. It dries faster than a regular cotton shirt because it's breathable and lightweight. There are also so many colors of this shirt, I have never seen so many…

Pros
  • PFG COMFORT AND BREATHABILITY: Made from quick-dry polyester interlock, this fishing shirt feels right at home on the water.
Cons
  • There are nuances

Large yellow - a true sunshine yellow, not as boring as pictured

Love these for my husband. He hates sunscreen on the water and it protects him. He's always hot, but somehow he says if he's too hot shirtless, putting it on will cool him down. Should reflect the sun or something, but it works. It's cooler with that and at a temperature of 100+, on water for 10+ hours it doesn't stain at all - it certainly hasn't burned out. I bought a few for myself but they only have a few colors for women. The yellow is not matt like in the picture, but a real sunny yellow.

Pros
  • Snap on clasp
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Coolest, most comfortable

I love these shirts. I have one and now I have one for each day of the work week. It's been over 100 degrees lately and I wouldn't even think about changing my shirt. I can go without sunscreen (except on my face), and with the slightest breeze and a little sweat, I feel about 10 degrees cooler. Recently I was at a science museum where they had an exhibit with a thermal imaging camera. All shirts were red and my Columbia PFG was cool white! I have the basic versions of these shirts from Hane…

Great shirt and they come in plus sizes!

First, it fits very well. I'm a tall 6ft 6in and I have really long arms. The sleeves were almost too long, which is a luxury (and a must if you want to cover your arms for sun protection). Wore the shirt all day by the river and the protection was great, no tanning, the shirt was comfortable all day on a sunny very warm day. Came home, grabbed a salad and poured beetroot on a white shirt. I got up and rinsed it off under cold water. threw it in the laundry. All is well! The shirts fit great…

Pros
  • OMNI-SHADE: Stay safe and secure. Omni-Shade blocks UVA and UVB rays to prevent sunburn and long-term skin damage. Tight weave with UV absorbing threads blocks the full spectrum of harmful UV rays.
