Very nice little antenna

Beat my first 1.25m repeater with this antenna on my little VX-7 and still hit it. Nobody to talk to, but that's another matter.

Pros
  • Transmit: 146/223/446MHz
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Great upgrade to standard HT antennas

This little antenna seems to meet the advertised requirements for increased gain (compared to a rubber ducky antenna, of course, which comes with the delivered mobile device). This seems like a good value for 3 bands, although I haven't tested the field strength on the 220 band. It appears that the operator's body (or at least the hand) is used for part of the other end of the dipole, which is typical of HT antennas. (Field strength tests have shown this).

Pros
  • Reception: 118~160, 180~280, 360~520MHz
Cons
  • Doubtful

Suitable for Baofeng: Antennas

-ish. Although not out of the box BUT for about $4 and a few minutes you can have a radio that looks decent and not like something cluttered with spare parts (I also see the humor in the last part of that statement). SMA barrel connector .FF. Then go to the plumbing section of your favorite home improvement store and look for a replacement gasket display. Look for beveled washers. There are many options for the outside diameter, so choose the one that works best for your radio. Take your radio…

Pros
  • Connector type: SMA
Cons
  • I have no dislikes for this, everything is fine

Works - adjust length to area of interest.

Purchased to replace the stock antenna on my Icom IC-R20. This works well for a telescopic antenna. Works best if you adjust the length for the area of interest. The only issue I had was that the connection became loose at some point, but that was a minor issue that's easily fixed if you have a screwdriver.

Pros
  • Length: 11 inches
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Great upgrade to standard HT antennas

This little antenna seems to live up to the advertised increased gain (compared to the rubber ducky offered by portable devices of course ). This seems like a good value for 3 bands, although I haven't tested the field strength on the 220 band. It appears that the operator's body (or at least the hand) is used for part of the other end of the dipole, which is typical of HT antennas. (Field strength tests have shown this).

Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
