I have installed several over the years with no problems to report

I have installed four of these with no problems in various vehicles I have owned over the years. Numerous cables allow the device to be hidden behind the dashboard trim for a cleaner look. I attached the control box of each device with 2cm x 1cm 3M tape and found that the fuse is the safest way to power the device. Simple and straight forward - it's a lot cleaner than the best rat charging cables strewn about the dash!

Has a tie when not in use, otherwise good.

This current converter draws 0.016A (see image) when connected to 12V instead of USB, which may not be much for a normally used car battery but certainly makes a difference on a motorcycle. or a vehicle that sits. It is ideal for connecting to an ignition controlled or otherwise switchable circuit. I haven't had any issues with "computer mode" or cutting data cables in the unit as others have described and it works great to power my Garmin Nuvi. 57LM GPS (up to approx. 0.32 A at full…

Works for my use, definitely not for more power hungry devices.

This serves its purpose for charging a cheaper non contract Android phone that I use exclusively for the Torque app in one of my machines. Unfortunately I can't provide data on power delivery, but a cheap phone keeps increasing the battery percentage with the screen always on and reading Bluetooth data non-stop. However, my LG G3 complains about slow charging (in my experience it happens with anything < 1.8A), so that's it. I'm actually wasting my battery doing the same thing. So yeah, I'd…

Works perfectly as described.

This 5v adapter kit works exactly as described. It allows you to connect to your car's 12V voltage with a fuse tap or a wire tap. While a cable is cheaper, I would recommend a fused cable just so you can't fry that adapter or whatever is plugged into it (DVR or phone). The product itself is pretty simple. Connect the red end to power and the black end to ground and the voltage drops to 5V and 1.2A. I connected the power to the fuse tap (I have this adapter E Support 12V Car Add-a -Circuit Fuse…

Pros
  • Accessories GPS system
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

I used this to power my Aukey DVR. I liked that it was hardwired but I had a USB port for the DVR. I specifically wanted to use this type of hardwiring since my Aukey DVR is capacitor based so the camera doesn't get power when I turn off the motor. I can't have a backup battery because I live in extreme heat, hence the capacitor-based DVR. Well, when I'm not in hot weather, I can just unplug the dash cam (because it's a USB port) and plug in the power adapter to record while I'm out of the car.
