Description of ๐Ÿ”ง Enhanced Performance Checking Springs by COMP Cams 4758-2

Set of two springs is enough for one cylinder. Simplify measuring piston-to-valve clearance, rocker ratio, cam degreeing, etc. Low tension checking springs can be installed by hand in place of valve springs. Part number: 4758-2.

Do not buy for CHEVY

Does not fit on the value list itself Not to mention the attached gasket. Must be the same "diameter" size as the spring size. Totally useless!

Pros
  • Low tension springs can be hand fitted in place of valve springs
Cons
  • Useless features

Nice to have springs

Not necessary, but nice to have. This method measures the span of the roller tip more accurately than measuring the amount of paint at the tip of the valve stem.

Pros
  • A set of two springs is enough for one cylinder
Cons
  • Little things

Design Issues - Springs

The springs are MUCH stiffer than necessary. I had to cut about 1/3 of the spring to keep it from compressing my hydraulic jacks. Good for checking tappet length, but needs modification to use it to check piston clearance or whatever you want to do with off-seat valves.

Pros
  • Part #: 4758-2
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
