Description of ComStar Copper Solder Plastic Container

ComStar’s Copper Lock is the revolutionary method for soldering pipes! Designed for the US Space Program!. Simply apply it inside the connector and/or onto the pipe (or both); making sure the liquid is totally around the circumference, fit in the pipe and within 60 seconds a permanent leak-proof seal will prevail. No heat or solder is required to create a permanent leak-proof bond. 2oz bottle will bond as many as 240 3/8 inch fittings. Exceeds all US Military copper bonding specifications: Mil-S-46163A Type I Grade K, Mil-S-224723E Letter Grade CVV.

Keep the flashlight on the shelf.

This stuff works as promised. It hardens due to lack of oxygen, so it must be used for gluing fittings. Do not glue copper to anything else. After healing, it is almost impossible to separate.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Unreliable

Excellent adhesive for numerous connections.

I used this to make two different garden ornaments out of 3/4" copper pipe and fittings. I made just over 200 connections, some of which stayed in the bottle. I know nothing about the print aspect as I didn't use it for that.

Pros
  • Best in the Niche
Cons
  • Something Different

This is the best new product I have found in years

This is the best new product I have found in years. You simply put on a copper lock and collect the parts. No mess, no soldering, no leaks. According to the label, it can withstand up to 4000 hp. I. This is incredible because the copper tube bursts and the connection remains intact.

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • Some problems

Works great!: Solder

This solderless product works great. At first I was skeptical. I needed to add a line to an old copper plumbing line. I used the product as instructed and after turning the water back on it worked as advertised. There are no leaks. 03/15/2017- Ten months and persevere! I just used it again to connect to a hot water tank. No questions. It worked as said.

Good product. best in Solder and Flux

The only thing I have against it is that it should have a higher density. But for docking couplers or nineties for direct connections, it's excellent. Just don't try to use it if the distance is more than 1/8. It must be epoxy or it must contain a thickener. Highly recommended for appropriate applications.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Protection

A copper lock isn't worth buying

I repair commercial refrigeration equipment. I bought it to try in melee combat instead of a flashlight. I followed the directions on the (5) joints exactly and had to go back and sweat over every joint because this stuff wasn't holding. It dripped like a sieve. every joint. I used it again at another job thinking it was an accident, maybe I did something wrong. Guess what leaked again.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Not the best

Worked every time welding and soldering

Don't listen to the bad reviews, I've used this product on many 410a HVAC systems, many many connections, not a single leak when I'm done, I always make backups in case it disappears forever, one of the best inventions. The KEY is getting it right, sandpapering the pipe and inner fitting until the copper shines and removing the copper dust with a dry, lint-free cloth, then a bead of sealant around the inside of the fitting and around the assembled one to brush pipe around together. And TWIST to

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Some little things

Update! January 2020 I only use this for emergencies now as I can't solder a whistle or use shark fittings at all. I had several leaks that only started after a couple of weeks. There were some good joints but not enough to trust this product. Would avoid if possible! Good product! I have used this for emergency repairs or in places where using a flashlight is dangerous e.g. B. in walls, or when I'm just lazy haha. I have used it on both regular water pipes and heating pipes with 100% success…

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • Discontinued model

Is working. Patience must be.

Copper lock comes with a slight deviation from the instructions Find this product has been sent down. I had to work in an area I couldn't erase. It took a little while to get it working properly with no leaks, but I've used it in a high pressure gas system with incredible success after strategizing it. Surprisingly, this is an epoxy type product that can be used instead of erasing. or soldering. In this regard, it is quite strong after treatment. The main consideration when using this product…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

untrustworthy, cracks with every movement, difficult to disassemble

DO NOT trust this product in situations where a leak could cause damage. It appears to form a strong bond, however the cured adhesive is very brittle and cracks at every bend in the pipe. I tried it on a non-critical joint and it worked for a while until the pipe was moved and a leak appeared and it wasn't a drip leak but a real stream. Not good, not good at all! So be careful. This might work for you if you're lucky, but keep your application in mind. Is it worth the (HUGE in my opinion) risk?
