I can't explain how this product got the positive reviews. The insulated cover does not cover the plug. I even tried softening it up with a heat gun. Very disappointed.

You can't get a really good electrical connection if the end spins freely. I don't want to put a friction joint in the middle of my wiring. This is poor design for a connector whose primary purpose is to provide an excellent electrical connection.

Nice finish and rubber. The lid clicks easily and securely into place. Unfortunately, even after being inserted into the socket, the contact rotated freely on the shaft. This makes the electrical connection questionable and unacceptable. I wanted to save myself the hassle of returning it. I poured solder between the contact and the shaft to secure it.

I used this product to make a set of test leads for my 400 foot invisible dog fence. They are easy to install. Using 130, 70, and 20 feet of 18 gauge wire and connecting to connectors sold separately, I can access any fence point of varying lengths. The combination of plugs and connectors increases the total resistance immeasurably.

Decent materials for the price. My complaint has to do with how the isolator connects to the bar. When you slide the insulator over the pole base during installation, the insulator slides back and forth, preventing the pole from being pushed all the way into the socket, creating a poor connection. Attempting to remove and reinstall the isolator is very difficult.

I have bought banana plugs from 3 brands and they are the only ones that fit my speakers (Paradigm) and amps (McIntosh) perfectly. Others (Revain Basics and Monoprice Affinity) move around a bit after connecting. you are tight And soldered. The inner hinge will not corrode and they will never fall out. These connectors are ruggedly constructed and accept 14 AWG speaker wire. I used a Hakko FX-888D soldering station set to 600F with 60/40 solder and it was easy to do. I would recommend tinning the wire before soldering the wire to the plug and applying flux to the inside of the plug to help the solder spread evenly over the inside of the glass.
