Description of Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 195/55 R16 87 year old
The Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 tire is a summer model for passenger car applications. This tire immediately captivates with its excellent performance characteristics, due to which the braking distance on wet and dry roads is reduced, mileage is increased, rolling resistance is reduced, and handling is improved. The tire in its class shows excellent performance: 15% shorter braking distance, 12% lower rolling resistance, 8% more mileage, and 5% more ride comfort.
The engineers who developed the Continental CPC5 relied on massive tread grooves in its shoulder area. This design, borrowed from high-speed sports tires, provides excellent grip, especially during various maneuvers and turns. Due to this design, the bearing surface is increased, which is not subject to load in the shoulder area and the tread is stabilized. This allows the driver to confidently navigate corners, which increases safety when avoiding a variety of obstacles.
The designers were able to reduce the braking distance due to special 3D grooves. The transverse grooves located on the tread blocks prevent the blocks from “rolling”, therefore, when braking, the surface area of \u200b\u200btransmitting force increases. For a quick stop on any surface, the tread lugs contain additional sipes. Their principle of operation is similar to windshield wipers - they, one might say, break the water film, reducing the braking distance when driving. The Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 tire does an excellent job with hydroplaning due to the so-called "aqua sipes". Thanks to them, water is instantly removed even when driving at high speed, while the tread rigidity is not lost, which is important for road holding. In order to achieve minimum rolling resistance, the shoulder area and belt edge of the tire are specially designed in such a way that the carcass is constantly stable. When designing the shoulder area, the developers went the other way: the side area became flexible, and the protrusion area was reinforced. As a result, rolling resistance is reduced and steering precision is improved.
