Description of 💪 Continental 4040420 OE Technology Series Multi-V Belt: Ultimate Performance and Durability

Goodyear Engineered Products Gatorback with Quiet Channel Technology is now branded Continental Elite. Continental Elite Poly-V belts quiet channel technology is designed for quiet performance, constructed for high efficiency. Quiet channel technology is a unique staggered-cog profile and advanced rubber compounds virtually eliminate noise typically associated with pulley misalignment. Finally a quiet Corvette. Do yourself a favor and get one (a Gatorback, formally) if you're having a horrible belt squeak in your $50,000 car (make sure it's not also the tensioner that's failing).

Best Belt - Hands down!

This is the ONLY belt that doesn't squeak/squeak/chirp in my 2000 Corvette! I went through three belts before reading on a Corvette forum that this Goodyear belt was the one to use to get rid of that annoying "chirp" under the hood of my Vette. I am very happy with it and the construction of the strap itself as well as the unique design is far superior to other straps I have purchased.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Not the best

Great AC belt for C5 Corvette

Works great as the AC belt on my 2001 Corvette Z06. Fits with no problems. However, I figured I could mount it from the top, and while I could easily replace all the pulleys and the main timing belt from the top, the AC belt is next to impossible to replace. vertex. At least in my case it was like that. I ended up putting the car on a neighbor's lift and putting the belt in from the bottom, which was a lot easier. Although this is easily possible on sockets.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some nuances

NOT the main snake for the C5 Corvette. It's an air conditioner belt.

For those looking for a main drive belt for the C5 Corvette please note that this is not the case. This part number 4040420 is the smaller A/C drive belt. Revain's listing is a bit vague as they appear to be using a generic photo of the main drive belt. Note the lack of a part number in the photo. The actual belt is much narrower than in the photo. As another reviewer said, check the part numbers. The star rating I gave is for the listing, not the quality of the belt. Goodyear Gatorback straps…

Miraculously I noticed the balancer wobble like a drunk on 2

Here's a warning if you own a Corvette. IF YOUR BELTS SCREAM YOU MUST CHECK THE HARMONIC BALANCER! GM Balancer - SHIT! If it fails, it will severely damage the front of the engine or the steering rack. My '06 also had issues with belt squeaking. Miraculously, at 2:30 am I noticed the balancer reeling like a drunk. Today I'm installing a SLP u/d idler pulley. (Got this belt but it's the wrong size - too big for the underdrive pulley). There are also videos on YouTube on this topic. Replacing the
