It was pretty easy to use. I've found that when the fingers are stretched out, they seem to flex very slightly and even create gaps between them, making the overall outline imprecise. That will help, but you have to be careful. I'm not sure if they are better or not. This is my first. I'll use it for a while to see if it grows on me.

This product is suitable for small tiles. I was trying to make a floor (because I make floors all day) and this floor had very hard corners so I bought it and also used big tiles and this product couldn't even make one of the hard corners for which I bought. If you are using small tiles and have simple corners this tool will likely work, but if you are using 12 inch tiles or other tiles wider than this tool then don't waste your money.
