Misleading Photo

I haven't had a chance to try them to see how well they work. They came together as a single board (not as shown in the photo). A cautious attempt to separate them by perforating them resulted in one board breaking, so I've now broken one of the two and I haven't even started my project yet.

Perfect fit for my project

I used these 4.2 volt converters to power two of my old under counter LED blocks. These devices turned LEDs on and off when motion was detected. The LEDs were powered by 4.5 volts from six AA batteries connected in parallel. These batteries had to be changed too often because the system drained them very quickly. The converters fit perfectly in the housing of the LEDs and the blocks work like new. The converters do not get hot and work as expected. All for the price of one set of AA batteries!

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Miniature but no mounting method

Ideal for small size and performance. I use it to power my NodeMCU/8266 board from the mains and it just works. 5VDC as needed. Solder pins provide a convenient way to hold wires. I rely on the NodeMCU board's linear capacitor to smooth the output a bit. No problem. The ultra-small form factor does not allow for convenient surface mounting. glued it in place. ugly but it works. The component cables are too long and need to be cut to use the bottom of the PC for mounting.

  • Durable finish

Quality Control Issues

Only one of the two converters shipped worked. The other was DOA. The oscilloscope showed that there was activity on the DC output pins when AC was applied, but something was clearly wrong as the voltage wasn't close to 12V. The power LED never lit on the first module I connected to AC power/target. The units have been tested with no load in excess of what an oscilloscope/multimeter would do. The output voltage fluctuated between 12.00V and 12.44V on a healthy module with a frequency of about…

Good little power module from 120VAC to 12VDC; Without mounting holes

This is for: 2 piece AC-DC converter module Universal 110V 120V 220V 230V to DC 5V 12V PowerFirst isolated circuit, no mounting holes. I used a fiberglass board and tie downs to secure it and then some goop along some edges to really secure it. Drill a hole for the 120VAC wires to be soldered to this block and go under the fiberglass board to the 2 pin connector. I covered the 120VAC solder points with goop. I turned on a block that was outputting 12.48VDC with a small load of about 0.15A. I'm…

  • One year trial period

Stars for cleanliness, thickness and warmth. Hm?

The 5V board is good. Xacto simply removes the perforation. I've seen a lot of cheaper components come this way. I would recommend that the manufacturer take the risk of splitting when packaging for a few extra pennies rather than drinking an American who breaks them apart like Dorito and then having your resellers pay to send back "broken" leads ( this can easily be remedied by the way). I've only used one of the boards so far and I love the size. It fits on my jigsaw and along with the 5v red

Built-in DC Power Adapter for Security Camera

Excellent product. Stable voltage and enough current to charge small electronics. I'm tired of climbing stairs to change the batteries in one of my security cameras. Also, I didn't like the look of the power cord running through the window into the room. This converter module to the rescue! What you need to do the same: - 1 junction box, 14/2 wiring and some understanding of household wiring - Replace the GFCI socket on the line side (as part of the circuit is exposed to water) - This AC/DC…
