The annoying fan runs up and down!

When system performance is around 15%, the fan often goes from zero to what appears to be 100% RPM and then back to zero. The CPU and GPU fans are completely silent at these lower loads, so suddenly hearing the PSU fan keep spinning up is really annoying and gets old fast. I've also heard reports from many other people having this problem. I am sending this back and have just received a Corsair SF600 which is completely silent in comparison.

Pros
  • Beautiful looks
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

A very annoying fan spins up for about 0.5 seconds and then shuts off. Then it repeats itself many times for a minute. I have been waiting for this device and it is very annoying. The fan is audible under load, but not bad. This initial surge is hard/annoying to the ear. I would NOT recommend buying.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Legacy

Ridiculous fan curve (dated 1/18/21)

I seem to have a fairly new V850 model and this fan curve is ridiculously annoying. If you at Cooler Master think it's a good idea to go to 100% from a certain (low) threshold of fans, you have nothing to do with fan curve design. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED IN ALL PRODUCTION MODELS! Don't be like me - spend hours running wires and making everything nice only to switch power supplies and ruin all my work.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Defective fan curve on current version 0-100%, like all others

These current versions of this PSU line are known to have defective fan curves. They go from 0 to 100% just by surfing the web. CM is not very clear on when this issue will be fixed or how they will process returns/exchanges for customers who choose to keep the PSU. I highly recommend staying away until they fix the faulty fan curve issue. And even after they "fixed" it. I would wait for reviewers or others to confirm that the rev2 of these power supplies are "OK". I was so excited to see a few
