So the product itself is actually very well designed and made from durable materials. The impeller motor ran, but the flow rate was very low. So instead of packing it up and sending it back. I followed the instructions for the product which said "IMPORTANT, DO NOT return this product to the place it was purchased" and call them and they will take care of it. So the first sign of trouble with this skimmer was the missing skimmer hose barb on the pump hose connection. Despite using different clamps, the hose never lasted more than a day. I ended up cutting off the original non-notched connector and gluing the notched connector. After that the skimmer worked very well. It turned out to be a good skimmat, quiet, seemed reliable. Pros: It's quiet (no loud vibrations/rattles when adjusted correctly) and it cleared the water out of my reef. Directions were fuzzy and images fuzzy. Just installed today and everything works as advertised. Initially there were no bubbles so I removed the air hose, unscrewed the cap that goes over the propeller and reassembled everything. Something must have been weakened because it helped. It's quite small but has a large area. I got it as a HOB for AOI and it takes up more space than I thought. UPDATE! TWO YEARS LATER (Original review "Three months after purchase and the pump gives up. Customer service is non existent. I contacted them when I first received the pump due to a loose pin in the cable and never received a reply.
