Doesn't close completely without cable ties.

For heavy lines with long ribs, the box must be widened significantly to relieve them. But when pulled out, the box is not clamped to the end (see picture for more detail) and therefore "splits". I had to use a zip tie (and I didn't have white or clear ones so I had to spend $10 a pack) to keep it closed. Big Orange has a much better version for Christmas lights, but it's only green and didn't work in the bathroom, which was my app.

Good idea but doesn't fully match attached cords

Overall concept is good and quality is acceptable but the plug and socket for my typical extension cord and outdoor lighting is too long when connected together so both do not fit fully inside the inner lid to provide complete weather protection. I had to install an inner cover around one plug and an outer cover around the other with just enough overlap to provide some weather protection. This made the adaptation excellent for connecting two unusually shaped lamp sockets. But as others have pointed out (I won't go into detail, just confirming), the same "compensator" system doesn't weather well, especially when stretched at an angle, which is desirable when stretched to the maximum. Another notable issue is that while the end holes have an outer layer of rubber to "grip and seal", they are only sized for "standard extension cords".
