The knee room on my desk doesn't have a protective panel and my desk is next to an outside wall where it's cool in winter. I bought a Cozy Legs flat warmer to keep my legs, ankles and feet warm. For starters. You should not use this as a chicken coop heater. Although that didn't stop me. I use it to heat a cheap $200 4ft x 3ft chicken coop that is drafty and has wood walls about the thickness of a single ply of cardboard. During the day, when the ramp/door is down, the inside of the coop stays about 10-15 degrees warmer than the outside. I have a 22 3/4 by 16 1/2 connector as pictured so the packaging says 24 1/2 to leave room for the chord. and the instructions say to mount not horizontally but vertically, contrary to the pictures. It says not to be used in wet areas. Like so many here, I bought it for the bathroom. It didn't fit where I wanted it behind my toilet, but I was able to install it on the vanity next to it.
