The CPR V5000 is very easy to use which makes it a good option for technical callers. Just click the "Block Now" button when you receive a call that you want to block. However, if you daisy chain it as recommended, no caller ID information will be sent to your phone. The incoming number is displayed on the CPR V5000, but it's just a number - no name, date or time stamp. I rely on this information in my call log, so the recommended install is not an option for me. The CPR V5000 saved my sanity

I was insane with the half dozen robotic calls I received daily. My phone system only blocked 30 calls and I've long since used up my limit. I bought a CPR V5000. In fact, I didn't think it worked for the first few days as I didn't get any calls from robots. Well after almost a week I'm hooked on the call blocker. I have two criticisms. Like some others, I really wanted the CPR V5000 to like it, especially since it had so many good reviews, but it does have some obvious flaws. I'm an Electrical Engineer with 40 years of experience designing complex commercial, industrial and defense electronics, so configuring or troubleshooting electronic equipment is a breeze for me. When the standard setup didn't work (Caller ID was transmitted periodically from the base station to my DECT cordless phones), I connected the device using the…

Good but not great for US phone systems

I really wanted to like the CPR V5000 based on the good reviews and advertised functionality but in the end I concluded that while it is a quality product does not work well for US phone system. In my setup, the CPR V5000 was the only device connected to Verizon Fios phone service through the main (first/primary) phone jack in the home. A few weeks later I sent the CPR V5000 back. Here's why: when the device is connected in SERIES (using the recommended procedure shown for the US setup), the…
