Good tool but for building materials

Good tool but the hardware was bent so I had to buy some class 8 screws and now it works great. Good price but ditch the ones that come with the kit and put in the heavier ones.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Slightly snapped

Don't.just don't in building materials

As mentioned by other people. It doesn't stick to the beam, it slides. I took a piece of 3/8" elbow, cut a 1 3/4" notch in it and attached it to the handle. Out of the box, it's pure junk.

Pros
  • So far satisfied
Cons
  • Reliability

Don't buy this on building supplies

Always slipped. I couldn't get it to stay in a spot on the vertical rafter where I could put pressure on the deck board. I spent more time getting this to work than it was worth. Good concept, bad design.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Expensive

Very handy for building materials

I work alone most of the time and this works well when you need a third hand. The handle doesn't flex and the color really pops out when I push it off and it hits the ground. Works well on 2x4s but is not designed for two 2x4s or 4x4s. I made an investment to do this and all is well.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • weak

Won't stick to beam

Tool won't stick to beam. He pushes off the board and doesn't hold. If you're using a beam band, you can't even drag the tool on the beam. The pin connecting the tool pulls the band up. I tried clamping the cut boards to either side of the joist to hold it in place but found that it ripped the joist tape.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • No performance

Holds lag badly.

The principle of operation of this tool is quite simple. It's well built, but the two round posts that are supposed to hold the joists are painted smooth, and it slides over pretty much any joist. I had a roll of self-adhesive backed anti-slip tape and taped these pieces on and everything worked great. I'm not sure how well the "updated" version will work or how long this stuff will last. My solution works, but over time the tape wears out and needs to be replaced.

Pros
  • Sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Modernity
