Description of 💡 CPS CSRU1 Compressor Saver - Energy-efficient Add-On for 1-3 Ton Units

BOOST START-UP: A 5-2-1 Compressor Saver significantly reduces the amount of time your compressor is on high amp start-up. Some top-of-the-line A/C units come from the factory with 5-2-1 technology built in. Now you can have a 5-2-1 Compressor Saver installed in your A/C unit by a professional!. THE RELIABLE CHOICE: The compression savor uses a powerful multi-layer starting capacitor and a smart switch to give your compressor the boost it needs to start up quickly, more reliably, draw less power and save you money, too. AFFORDABILITY: The cost of a 5-2-1 Compression Savor is a fraction of the cost of replacing a compressor damaged by hard starts. It could add years to the life of your compressor and other electrical components associated with your A/C system. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This product should only be installed by a licensed technician. ABOUT US: CPS Products is a business built by technicians, for technicians. Factory Installed Part

I bought a 2.5 ton Goodman central air conditioner 2 months ago. It worked great for a few days when the weather got hot, but one day it suddenly wouldn't start and made a very loud hum. After crashing several times due to overload when trying to launch, it finally went back to normal on its own. I spoke to an HVAC specialist and he said that this problem can occur because most new condensing units no longer come with a starting capacitor to make them cheaper. They rely on a run capacitor and…

Everyone needs a boost!

Update 08/17/19: ---------------------- I just bought a clamp meter with inrush current and wanted to know how it was to win with this starter kit capacitor. I measured 80.5 A without it. With the 5-2-1 I measured 74.8 A. The LRA on the device is 73A so I'm getting close to the spec. This device is from 2005, so hopefully it will help keep it running longer. First review: ------ Received this after AC setup. My HVAC guy said my unit could benefit since it's 15 years old, but it will cost $390…

Important Notes for Easy Installation

We bought a new home with 3 HVAC zones. The previous owners had a service contract for ongoing maintenance, which we took over. During the inspection, the technician recommended that we should install compressor engineers. Got an award from them. $330 per item. Only $990. But since I had a maintenance contract, they saved me 10%. So call it $900 in round numbers. While he was writing his report, I searched Revane and showed him these parts. He told me his price includes the labor. I then…

Black Wire (General) Explained

Installation is pretty easy but I got it wrong so here are some tips. The red wire is connected to the capacitor on the common side. The capacitor should be marked "C” at this point for easy connection. The striped wire is connected to the condenser on the compressor side. The condenser should be labeled "Herm" which means compressor, so another easy connection. The condenser will most likely have a different connector labeled "Fan". Don't do anything with this connection. The last black wire…

Easy to install, makes a noticeable difference

I installed this on a 2002 Trane 2.5 ton heat pump which had no problems starting. At this age I don't expect a heat pump to last much longer but for the price it was a cheap attempt at extending its life. Installation was pretty easy. My contactor was replaced earlier and the new one was installed upside down. Even if it were installed according to the unit's wiring diagram, the compressor common wire would be on T2 and not T1 as the instructions dictate. Attached to the box was an envelope…
