Good Filter: Power Tool Parts and Accessories

This is a good filter for drywall dust. I hook up my grinder to my vacuum and use this filter and it catches almost everything. Very little dust enters the house during use. However, it can become clogged, so it's important to replace or clean it regularly to avoid overheating the vacuum cleaner.

  • Easy to Use

It works but doesn't fit perfectly

It's not an exact replacement but it works. I use a 5 gallon 5 hp Crafstman Clean n Carry wall cleaning system. The bottom of the vacuum is held in place by the filter when it is closed by "squeezing" the filter between the base and the motor, but when the main compartment is opened to empty the vacuum it doesn't stay screwed to the original.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Not the best

Great performance with power and hand tools

This filter is much better than the stock filter. You can take it off and clean it with compressed air. Reuse it many times compared with the regular one, which is difficult to clean, not really clean and doesn't last as long. The dust through the sweeper exhaust pipe is also much cleaner. I'm only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the price. A cleaning filter shouldn't be that expensive for those of us who use it frequently.

  • Great for me

Craftsman Shopvac OEM Filter

This is a great value blue fine dust filter (plasterboard & concrete dust, ash) for 5 gallon or larger Craftsman vacuums. By the way, I clean them several times before finally throwing them away. Putting on nitrile gloves and a dust mask, try to stay upwind over the trash can, with the filter attached to the motor housing, run your fingers through the filter pleats and rotate the entire filter/motor assembly. Such a procedure should prevent the collected dust from entering the engine or intoโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This is Amazing
Cons
  • Available in White Only

Good filter for catching (cold) ash from pellet stoves

I use these in my 6 gallon fuel. Master wet/dry vacuuming as I clean our Harman pellet stove every few weeks during the winter. Pellet ash is a very fine dust and standard. The filter allows too many ultrafine particles to pass through the vacuum and into the exhaust. In the end you see it as a fine dust on lamps/surfaces/etc. This filter significantly reduces gas breakthrough. It's a bit pricey but you can clean it multiple times during the season by tapping the edges and removing a lot ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Year Trial
Cons
  • Zero
