Doesn't work with wrenches

I bought this while waiting for a new caravan that was delayed due to COVID. I finally got it 4 months later and tried using a torque wrench to set the tire lugs to 100 ft lbs. The wrench did not "click" and acted like a breaker. I lowered the ft-lbs to 50 and still no "click". I'm very disappointed and since I can't test it shortly after delivery, the return window is closed and I'm stuck with a non-working tool.

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I still remember the excellent quality of the Craftsman.

Very good torque wrench. There still seems to be that old Artisan quality. Sturdy, well built and accurate to within a few pounds when tested. A distinct click when the desired torque is reached. The only negative for me, it can be a bit of a hassle to install and reset. Going from 50 to 200 pounds takes a few turns of the knob. However, if you don't need to keep changing settings all the time, you'll be happy with this key.

  • New

Do not buy! on hand tools

Purchased for use on trucks, trailers and lawn mowers. First I used it to tighten the blade screw back onto the mower after sharpening the blade, it was easy to adjust lbs/ft then I started turning the screw and no click but a pop because the screw broke! Tried a nut on a truck tire, tugged until you were sure it was tight enough but there was no click! Very disappointed and my lawnmower needs to be taken to the shop for repairs! Don't buy this defective junk. I hope Handyman pays my lawnmower…

Pros
  • EASE OF USE: quick and easy locking feature for hassle free use
Cons
  • Crumpled

Hand tools may be the problem at best

UPDATE: There have been two reports in the shop. Accuracy was very good, but inconsistently indicated that the desired torque was being achieved. Sometimes it clicked, sometimes it didn't. This should be a one-time issue, otherwise others would have noticed it sooner. I returned it. -------------- I couldn't get it to click at torque set, low range, golden dot or max setting. This isn't common with these wrenches, but it's not uncommon either. Someone I know calibrates the torque wrench and…

Pros
  • ADDED CONVENIENCE: Bi-material handle for comfort and torque wrench handle 1/2
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Long and heavy, the best wrenches

How far the Craftsman has fallen. There was once a lifetime warranty on its products; now, for example, this torque wrench has a one-year guarantee. As for his work? It's not easy to check that you've arranged the numbers correctly; for example, sometimes the numbers in pounds seem either too high or too low when you think they are lined up; It was only by comparing them to their metric equivalents that I was able to confirm that hopefully it's aligned correctly. The bad black and white photos…

Pros
  • QUICK IDENTIFICATION: Scales stamped on the body show torque settings in inches and metric units
Cons
  • Some little things
