Had to make some modifications to the crank installer

Tool needed to install 5.4 liter three valve timing chains. I had to modify the mounting hole to fit properly and I had to grind the end next to the mounting hole to get it past the compressor. Otherwise, both tools worked perfectly.

The fit was disabled on the valve parts

The crank position was not suitable. I had to grind and oil the paint from the inside diameter to get it onto the shaft. The same applies to the cam lock. The bolt holes were an order of magnitude smaller. Screw in the screws far enough to hold them with a loose tool. I then had to align the tool with the sprocket, apply torque to the cam sprocket bolt while holding the tool before I could apply breaking torque to the bolt. But the work is done.

Good adjustment tool 4.6/5.4 3V

For the price it does the job. saved me a lot of time and wasted no time, i would recommend if you only use it for personal use, would not use it for professional use, felt that whoever is holding the phaser would slow down, but for Luck isn't so. Overall a good tool for the money. If you don't know how to do the timing go to Fordtechmakuloco, there is a great detailed video on YouTube on how to do it.

The crankshaft positioning tool was off a few degrees

While the phaser lock worked fine, the crankshaft positioning tool places the sprocket pin at approximately the 7 o'clock position. Maybe it was just my tool, but considering how extensive this timing job is, I wouldn't recommend this kit unless you're just using a phase shifter. Buy an OTC crank tool or just look at it as best you can at the 6 o'clock position while you measure it.

When searching online for these tools, I was amazed at the price differences between sellers; I finally settled on this set at a very reasonable price; I paid attention to quality because the set was very cheap. The instruments were delivered in advance and found to be well made upon inspection. The tools fit well and work properly; With these tools, engine tuning is very easy! Will not fit my 5.4 3V

I have a 2007 Expedition with a 5.4 3V and have tried using this crankshaft alignment tool based on the positive feedback. I have no idea what engine people actually install this tool on (assuming the positive reviews are legit), but it's advertised as suitable for 5.4 and definitely isn't suitable for mine. Sure, I could sit down and file the keyway to fit the crankshaft keyway, but that's not necessary and would defeat my purpose for using the tool. Also, the hole is too small for the dowel…
