Learn calligraphy!

my 9 year old loves to write. Since I'm going into quarantine, I ordered these. Very nicely made, the markers write well and have nice colors, the pages teach how to write calligraphy. Only two markers have brush tips; Black and blue. Also, the pages are all loose, I thought we'd get a bound book. A great set for those learning calligraphy!

Really good if you want to start calligraphy

I really like these. I only use the thicker side, but it's very easy for those who want to learn brush calligraphy. start here I didn't like the brush pens that came with it because I have real ones, but they're not bad. The colors are cute. I didn't really use the metal pins or cards that came with it. I only used markers for notes.

Good for drawing tools

Good for the price. It has a lot of tags, a lot of tracking pages, etc. However, there are a few things I don't like. 1) Only two brushes are included in the scope of delivery. Maybe I missed it somewhere in the description but I was disappointed. 2) the supplied brush pens are completely worn out after about 2 uses and i can no longer make thinner upward strokes. I feel like I could just buy a pack of thin markers and be done with them.

Excellent set for lettering

Great gift idea! It comes in a cute box with all the items you need to paint. The fact that you can write and calligraphy with Crayola markers is pretty amazing. But instruction sheets and instruction papers make it pretty easy! This set contains more than traditional gift box sets. I just wish there were better left-handed guides. It's tough as a southpaw to get good instruction from any kit so I'll just have to keep working on it.

Is it baseball or calligraphy?

My daughter wanted to learn baseball so I bought her a 42 piece Crayola Learn Baseball set. It didn't have a glove or a bat, but it did have a couple of balls that looked a little like baseballs, or at least were as round as baseballs. After training with the kit for several weeks, she arrived very well prepared for her first big game. Tell you what, she threw that baseball farther than anyone else. Do not buy this marker set if you really want something even remotely calligraphic related.

Great for beginners

Although I've been painting for a long time as an adult, I've wanted to improve my skills and this great set helped me finish my work. The colored pencils are great too. They're pretty soft and way better than the regular hard old Crayolas. I am planning to buy a larger set of Blend & Shade pencils. Also, I can't remember the last time I used pastel and haven't used watercolor in over 10 years so it was fun exploring those mediums too! This set was a good start and now I'm playing with…

It is not actually designed for calligraphy

My daughter and I were delighted to receive this set and learn calligraphy together. I did calligraphy when I was young and wanted to share this art form with my daughter, but this set is really just a little bit different with thick to fine markers, not an angled marker. The instructions don't talk about the angles you need to use to apply strokes, instead saying to use the tip to move up and the side to drop it. This is not enough to achieve the desired result. The writing pages give tips on…

Suitable for beginners and people who train hard.

I really liked it. Ironically, the standard pyramid tips seem to me to be better than the brushes that come with them, so I'm glad most of my markers were pyramid-shaped. I say that because the tips of the brushes were the right shape BUT not the right shape. They were as stiff as the tops of the pyramids and forced you to push so hard that over time the tops either stretched/damaged or bent in weird ways causing you to be inconsistent. In any case. This is a very affordable set suitable for…
