This product is not suitable for puppies. My 6 month old Pomeranian tore it up in seconds. Shoe toys are very small and poor quality for the price. Too expensive for small shoes. They should be used as decorations, not toys.

I actually use these on my 6 month old pup because she loves to chew on my shoes! Kinda got her as a joke but she really loves them! I think the point is the variety of textures on the toy (hard sole, fabric laces, etc.). She'll dig through the bottom of her toy box to find them! I just throw one away when it's too worn and give her a new one.

My green-cheeked kennel "likes" being picked up by the shoelaces, carried to the top branch, chewed and grabbed until it "falls", then climbing to the ground into the cage and "do it again!" Trainers are "well-made" toys for birds, and they last "a long time" if you "chew", "pull", "wear" them - all for leg training with Play! Since they're my "favorite toy," I like to keep a supply.

Update: Our bird flew by this morning. The company does not answer when I contact them. The small metal rings in these boots are made of toxic materials. Our bird, most likely, will not survive, because this toy makes him sick. I'm angry and I don't want this to happen to anyone who buys this toy or anything else from this company as they clearly don't care about their customers or their pets. We will sue.
