You will love this series

I love creative stitches and love making the perfect flying geese. If you're a quilter, you know that sometimes geese don't form and fly as planned. This ruler will help prevent that - a great investment as many quilts feature many flying geese.

  • Made in the USA

SUPER SUPER easy to use.

I had another flying geese ruler/template that was a bit tricky to use. This one is by Deb Heatherly and sold by Creative Grids and is VERY easy to use. I made over 100 flying geese in 5 different sizes in no time. Instructions are included with the ruler/template but I recommend watching the tutorial/video which will clarify any questions you may have.

Pros
  • Create eight different pre-cut sizes from 1" x 2" to 4" x 8" - the cutting requirements for each size are printed right on the tool! Or use your favorite method to create large blocks...then trim them to perfection.
Cons
  • Some small things

Best ruler/guide for precise cutting

Super ruler/template! I stayed away from flying geese before purchasing this line. I just never got the clean and perfect glasses I wanted. You can't go wrong with this method. You start with larger parts that are much easier to manage, and the two-step trimming is very easy. The ruler grips the fabric so the cuts are very accurate. In addition, the ruler fits ready-made flying geese from very small to quite large, and using this method you can get 4 flying geese at once! Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Rulers and ruler stands
Cons
  • String shorter than other picks

Nets Not Creative - Returned

I was in a hurry so ordered it online instead of waiting to go to my local quilt store. I knew something was wrong as soon as I removed the plastic. The paper the instructions were printed on was no thicker and the material the ruler was made of wasn't as good as other Creative Grids rulers I own. The pressure also disappointed us a little (see photo). The seller I got it from calling directly on the main page of the Creative Grids website - Lroom. I returned it.

  • Quilting

I could actually make a flying geese quilt right now!

I have always avoided sewing flying geese quilts because in the past I have found them difficult to do neatly. Now I'm making a patchwork quilt with about a dozen tiny flying geese. They are 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" unfinished. Last night I tried to sew them together following the pattern instructions and they came out too small even with a tiny 1/4 inch seam. I found a video that was about a specific line, but then I went to Revain and saw this. It even has cutting instructions on it! I have other…
