Works great. I applied watercolor directly to it, absolutely no streaks or stains. Nice and inexpensive set.

I really like these waterproof markers because they don't bleed with watercolors. I do a lot of calligraphy and I usually paint the background scene with watercolors. Markers have remained permanent with watercolors. I would recommend these markers to any artist. They are easy to use and make a great gift as they are packaged very eloquently.

The angle of the chisel tip is steep. For western calligraphy it must be square. I ended up ordering another pen. The brush pen is very stiff and doesn't look like a brush at all, so it can't be used for oriental style writing. The quality of the marker is good. Good ink flow, good dark ink. I just wish they would consult some people in the area they sell them for. I would NOT take these for beginner calligraphers as they encourage dysfunctional hand position and excessive grip.

*END UPDATE* I didn't buy them for calligraphy. Although I would like to learn. I got these because I find my handwriting looks better when I write with a wide-tipped marker/pen. There are many wide-tipped felt-tip pens and markers on the market. but they are very big. And I like to write notes to my boyfriend in the morning so he can check them before he goes to work. And for that I use stickers. and writing with broad-tipped markers takes up too much space. So don't go down the calligraphy…
