Simple, ergonomic and reliable

The essence of the combination of pleasant design and professional ergonomics. The obvious impact of users, especially those with muscle strength and manual dexterity problems. No complicated tricks. Have been using them for 30 years! However: Apart from the steel screw, they are >plastic<. Don't put them in the oven and don't put them on the stove! Beware of the cheaper imitation on this site. !

BUYER BEWARE. not the same quality as the original design screwpull

BUYER BEWARE. My original Screwpull pocket corkscrew, which I've used for many years and still works great (I only bought it as a gift), is very well made. This product, an exact copy, to look at the picture, is nowhere near the same quality. Le Creuset clearly opted for profit over quality. Very disappointed. Four of the six I bought have already been opened by gift recipients so I can only return two. I forgot to read the reviews before!

My favorite corkscrew!

I found this model to rent for the holiday where we were among a huge choice. I fell in love with him for the first time. Not only is it easy to use, you can easily remove the cork, and it's great for travel, a picnic, or just takes up less room in that knick knack drawer you have for opening wine and the like. I like it so much I'm giving this away as a gift that should be easier to use! I find it much easier and I have wrist injuries on both sides. If you are looking for an easy-to-use…

The best design! on Bar & Wine Tools

This is the easiest corkscrew I have ever seen! But given the really hard traffic jam, I had a break. When I secured it with a ring of tape around the shaft near the part that goes around the screw, it lasted a few months even though the plastic was already cracked. Then it broke at the end near the finger. After I secured it with another ring of tape, it continued to fail for a few months. I ordered another one and reinforced both places with rings of tape: I expect this to last forever ^)…

Big! . while it lasts

How can I rate this? I just ordered my fourth pocket wine corkscrew. It really is 5 stars - the best/easiest design I've ever used is a corkscrew, ie if it doesn't break. The first lasted almost 4 years, the second - 2 years, the third not even two months (1 star). I hope they improved the plastic material. I would pay $50 for an aluminum (outer) version of this design (with a sharp screw). Until someone comes up with it, I've learned to avoid plastic and composite plugs (for as long as I can…

Not as well made as the old ones

Like many other reviews I ordered these after my decades old Le Creuset expired. What I received is disappointing - is it fake or did the company miss quality control? I won't say anything but at this price I don't want to risk buying another one. The rapier blade wobbles and wobbles all the time - it doesn't fit the body properly and I'm considering taking it off altogether; For this reason I already use another foil cutter. Likewise, the handle, which slides over the screw when not in use…

thin materials; Failed in 9 months.

Poor quality - thin plastic cuff broke. I had an earlier version for many years and really liked it. This one with the Le Creuset brand broke after 9 months. The pen's collar broke with normal use, opening about 30 bottles in that time. I measured that the plastic collar material is only 0.035" (1/32") thick. At $26, it's too expensive to be made that badly. I photographed the part on my little finger to show the cracked, thin-walled collar. Update: Le Creuset has replaced the wine opener as…

absolute crap in terms of durability and ridiculously high price

This is by far the best wine opener design. I've owned many of these things for decades. They used to be more durable, but for more than a decade the plastic has been of poor quality. I used to tell people to twist the cork until I hit the bottom; Then light it up and walk slowly so it doesn't break. It's no longer possible. The manufacturer is sitting on a gold mine and doesn't care about the quality of the product. The design is complete crap. I don't care about their guarantees; Damn things…

Bring the handle back to the center. Someone changed their mind.

I'm finally rid of them. They turned a large wine corkscrew into a brittle mess. What a disappointment after the amazing screwpull I had with a similar design 35 years ago. But it works. I complain that both Le Creuset and Screwpull have opted for side crank rotation. This is very unnecessary and makes it uncomfortable. Nobody needs that much mechanical advantage for a cork. It should be centered on top like my old screwpull I got from Olive Garden 30 years ago. used for 30 years. BUT, since Le

I bought my first one around 1985; Baffled by complaints

Looks exactly like the original ScrewPull I bought circa 1985. The teflon wore out the screw on my original opener and a new screw costs almost as much as the whole opener so I bought this one. As the Teflon wears out, more force is required to drive the screw into the plug. This has been my wine bottle opener for decades; It takes several bottles to open to wipe off the teflon! This is a great wine opener. I'm baffled by complaints about the lack of durability. I hesitated for several months…
