However, I find plastic hooks a little tricky to use as the hook itself is rounded too softly to properly grab the yarn. This is especially true if you're trying to use a very large hook and double strands of yarn. In addition, plastic does not lend itself well to the smooth sliding of the line on the hook.

I bought this mainly for a 25mm hook because I can't find it in my area. Large hooks are too short for the large yarn you will be using them on. It's awkward to hold and the yarn doesn't leave much room to slip and I don't have big hands. I don't recommend it for people who have wrist problems like me.
