This separator is made entirely of plastic. The top with 1/4 NPT threaded holes is painted to look like metal in photos, but it's a very brittle type of plastic. Air leaked out on one side no matter how much teflon tape or pipe sealant I used.

This is a very small water separator. That's fine for a small compressor, but no more than 15 gallons. In my opinion this would not be very suitable for spray painting. Someone noticed that there are no markings to distinguish the entrance. There is a triangular marker at the entrance.

Nice addition to my air compressor. I was able to screw it right into the pressure regulator and then attach the quick coupler. It is very durable and has a thick metal body. The bowl is plastic, but thick and strong. There's a rubber gasket that it screws onto, so it's airtight. Works perfectly.

This is a first review. The separator/filter is installed but I haven't seen any real use yet. The device makes a good quality impression. It arrived in good condition and was easy to install. The big plus is that it's smaller than I expected. In most cases that would be negative, but given the fortunate circumstances, it was perfect for my application.

The assessment that it's all plastic is wrong. The upper part is made of metal. I took the picture after just a few minutes of work. It seems to do a great job of separating water from air. It has an internal float so it automatically releases water. I haven't had any leaks and would definitely buy it again.

Just plugged this in and to my surprise it works pretty well, had to quickly place a mug underneath to catch the dripping water. It would be nice if the bottom of the cap ended in a nipple where you could attach a small hose to direct the moisture where you want it instead of spraying the whole area. Let's see how long it lasts.

I haven't noticed any moisture yet, but I like the idea of an additional trap in front of the airbrush. I use the brush in a different room than my 80 gallon air compressor and that's where the primary moisture trap is mounted. I've added a secondary regulator and this moisture trap to the room I'm spraying in because I often change the pressure when I change color formulas. Everything seems to work well and for the small price it's a great sprayer protector.
