As good or better than the original

Several different brands available, this is the one. Ordered dormans for my last Jeep, so flimsy I didn't even install them and threw them in the trash. These Crown restraints are DURABLE. Thick steel, perfect fit.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • So-so

Bad socket. Bad quality control.

I bought two. On one of these I could see the bushing was sticking out 1/4 inch on one end instead of being centered on the strut. The sleeve was loose enough that I could slide it in and out with my hand. There is poor quality control here. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Fits perfectly on my 99 XJ

Same grade and size as the OEM brackets on my 99 XJ. I'm not sure why some of them are insanely expensive. I took a chance because they cost a lot less than others and I'm glad I did! Who cares if they can't be lubricated, lubricate them with bearing grease and you're good to go! FYI I am using these in conjunction with a 4.5" Rough Country X-Series Lift.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Negative impression

and the [rubber] bushing is good and tight

This is an almost exact replacement for the OEM. The holes are parallel and the [rubber] boot fits nicely. I also replaced the leaf springs and had a slight squeak for a few miles but it's gone now. LUBRICATE EVERYTHING while assembling, I'm sure you'll have to struggle with screws to get them out so LUBRICATE the threads as well. They're a lot cheaper than the actual factory authorized replacement, so buy them instead, they're just as good.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Good replacement leaf spring caliper OEM

Ordered for my 2001 Jeep Cherokeee Limited Sport 4x4. The previous owner installed a 4.5" RC lift kit and for some reason also installed riser braces so the rear is higher than the front. I replaced them with these and now my ride height is level. Installation wasn't too difficult, the trick is to unbolt the rear shocks and evenly raise/lower the rear as needed. If you are doing this on the ground, remove the rear wheels to have room to lower the rear further away from your body.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • No automatic transmission

Either one is good. Check Before Installing

I bought two of these for my '87 Grand Wagoneer. The first ran ok, looked good, matched (I think) the factory front struts. On the second bracket, the thru-bolt went halfway and got stuck. No amount of hammer blows, no amount of grease, no amount of percussion would have enabled it to move in any direction. I had to cut the bolt to loosen it and then put a shackle in a vise to knock out the rest of the bolt. Confirmed that the yoke bushing is too small. Bought a new screw at the hardware store.

Pros
  • Rugged Construction
Cons
  • Durability
