CTA Tools 4035 Macpherson Compressor Review

The compressor is not reliable and it doesn't have the power to work on all car models. Automotive shops need tools that can handle different types of cars, but this one falls short. Through trial and error, I found that it couldn't function as advertised..

This is a well made tool that is safe to use when used properly. The claws are steel, not aluminum, and the threaded bolt appears to be hardened steel. I greased the threads and used a socket wrench to alternately compress the springs. You must compress both sides evenly so that the side forces on the bolts don't get too high.
