Budget WiFi 6 Router for Small Home/Office

Update: July 10, 2021 Cudy has notified me that a new firmware has been released that supports MESH networks. I uploaded new firmware to my Cudy AX1800 router and then attempted to add it to my existing MESH network. It did not work. It turns out that the current firmware only supports the MESH network function between Cudy routers. Kadi was kind enough to send me another AX1800 router so I could try out the new feature. I'm happy to share my findings. In terms of performance, when connected to

Pretty Useless: Networking Products

I RECEIVED THIS ROUTER FOR FREE AS A PROMOTION ON AMAZON WHEN I PURCHASED THE SAME CUDY 5G ROUTER. WHAT WILL NOT BE YOURS THIS FREE ROUTER CANNOT CONNECT WITH A 5G ROUTER. I WILL USE IT AS AN EXTENDER FOR A 5G ROUTER. AFTER SEVERAL EMAILS TO CUDY, THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS NOT WORKING. SO needless to say I'm sitting on my "free" router as I can't use it with my current 5G router.

Pros
  • All-in-One WiFi Router / Mesh WiFi Router / Access Point / WiFi Extender / WISP Router. Supports Wi-Fi router, access point, range extender and WISP modes to meet all network needs. You just need to update the firmware to version 1.10.0 or later, then you can use the multi-mode network setting function.

Added for MESH for routers

I bought this Cudy AX1800 X6 router to create a MESH network with the new Cudy AC2100. Installation has certainly been simplified, although setting up MESH was a bit confusing at first. I mean it's straightforward and simple, but it wasn't clear that one of them MUST be a router. Initially I set up the AC2100 as an access point and when I tried to set up MESH they couldn't talk to each other. Then it dawned on me that one of them MUST be a router. I just used my modem/router as a router and it…
