Fine powder makes the coffee unbalanced, bitter and over-extracted

Any grind, regardless of the setting, produces a fine powder. Some of it sticks to the walls of the trap and can be scraped off, but most of it gets mixed up with the grist. It basically ruins every beer by mixing in all that over-extracted swill. I tried to sift the Force but kept losing ground. I've tried different roasted beans, some softer, but this thing still grinds everything up and leaves an uncomfortable powder. You don't have to be a coffee snob to know that the coffee this thing…

Great grinder well worth the price

We had two manual grinders that broke before I finally gave up and decided to upgrade to a grinder with nicer burrs. I'm so glad I did. This mill is much better than a hand mill. It can grind a lot more coffee at once, which is important in our family of coffee drinkers, and you can control the grind much better than with a manual coffee grinder. I can actually get cold brew coarse ground coffee and french press which made our coffee so much better. I think coffee grinder prices are crazy…

Engine stalled and stopped after 6 months Updated!

I loved this grinder while it ran but the motor slowed down and stopped working after only 6 months of normal use. I have many refurbished products and have never had a break from repairs so soon after purchase. To update. After speaking to Cuisinart and learning that the refurbished models were out of warranty, I removed the funnel and removed the burrs. Still not turned on. So I removed the bottom and found that there is a switch that needs to be activated by the catcher. In short, now it…

Ideal! Even grinds all sizes with minimal effort

This is a great grinder that gives perfectly even grinds. You simply pack most standard supermarket sized coffee beans into the top chamber, dial in the size you want (it varies wildly), dial in the amount you want (usually perfect for a standard espresso machine). , with a few small exceptions where you get into a very fine grind) and it does ALL the work. They are gravity fed and stop when the right amount is reached. When everything is ready, take it out from the bottom and pour it into the…

This mill is disappointing. Grinds well

This coffee grinder disappoints. It grinds well, maybe a little better (more even grit) than my old Krups Egg Grinder, but not much. There are also disadvantages: - She "died" in just 75 days. The "deep cleaning" of every nook and cranny suggested in other comments didn't revitalize it. Yes, there is a 90 day manufacturer's warranty, but I'm not sure I'd want another because. . . - It's dirty! The bottom hopper builds up a lot of static electricity from coffee every time you grind it, and as…

Much better than a blade!

I bought this machine to replace a grinding blade that was starting to fail. After doing some research, based on the price and reviews of the unrepaired model, I settled on the refurbished model. I will update as time permits. Some points to note: This is NOT a cone mill. It is direct driven disc burr or flat burr. This is not an expensive coffee grinder with conical grinders and gears. There are big differences between the two in terms of price and performance. Deal with it. The mill also has…
