That's a lot better than putting a fifth wheel connector on the bumper.

The ability to attach a fifth wheel to the body of a pickup truck compares great to using a connector in the bumper! It was very easy to install. Measure 3 times, drill a hole once. Lowering the spare tire first will make installation easier. I also removed the left tail light so I didn't have to drill anything. I also sprayed primer and paint on the inside and outside of the hole. I also sprayed the screws when the installation was complete. I am 100% satisfied with this "upgrade"

Pros
  • Nice package

  • Big and bulky

Perfectly assembled, very satisfied. Installed on a 2020 Ram 3500

Installed on my long platform 2020 Ram 3500 SRW, not much to say, it's perfectly built, the cable length is almost perfect. I didn't use the supplied screws, I have a set of stainless steel screws that I used, I wasn't sure if the ones supplied were stainless steel or not and didn't want to find out. I used size #8. I also installed it in a different location than they recommend just because it was squashed to the rear of the body I wanted it out of the way because the back of this truck has…

The plastic on the connector is broken but works

The connector that goes up the body of the truck had an area where the plastic was broken (see image). I had to install it the same day to pick up the trailer so we went ahead and installed it. It works but I'm concerned about the durability of the connection as the plastic has broken. I contacted the manufacturer on Tuesday (4 days ago) and received no response. It was pretty easy to install. The hardest part was breaking the existing connection just because it was hard to reach. Disappointed…

. Put this in my 2012 F350 and it works great. There was a lot of wiring.

I installed this on my 2012 F350 and it works great. It comes with lots of cables that can be placed anywhere on the back of the truck. However, note that due to the length of the connector, you need to be careful where you place it as it may not fit in the space between the bodywork and the exterior part. your truck. The fork does its job of preventing the fifth wheel cable from dangling outside the truck bed while you're driving and keeps it nice and tidy. Camping World didn't offer it and…

2016 Ford F350 Electric

If you later decide to fit a fifth wheel liftgate, the forks should be further from the bed corner than shown. Some of the tailgates protrude into the stock and interfere with the attachment of seat belts. I watched a youtube video of a U-Haul employee installing the wiring, great step by step video. Easy installation, requires 2 1/8" bi-metal hole saw, requires removal of two 10m bolts holding 7 pin connector bracket to remove and install connector wiring, snug fit to factory hitch. Everything

  • Great Price

If you are new to vehicle wiring, this is the project to start with.

Although I'm a mid-range home remodeler, this was my first car wiring project. The instructions were clear and everything went well. As suggested by others, I went with longer self-tapping screws as my setup went through the bed's heavy bed lining. Note that there are several DIY installation videos online - likely one for your truck type and desired plug placement. Total time for me was about an hour because I spent about 15 minutes measuring and making sure my placement had enough space…

Much better than butt links or worse than T links

Used to replace an old worn out 6 lap link from another brand that was in the back of my truck. I wanted to use the same hole, but the existing hole was too small for this new plug (not the product's fault). I could have bought a step cutter to enlarge the hole but they are so big and I already have a traditional hole saw set. I measured from the top to the existing hole, then placed a 1/4" piece of plywood over that spot and marked my measurements. This allowed me to drill through the plywood…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities

  • Non automatic

Works perfectly on my 2011 Ram 2500.

Purchased when I bought a fifth wheel for my 2011 Ram 2500. This is the easiest way to add a 7 pin plug to your bed. You simply unplug the back of the 7-pin connector on the bumper, plug in both ends where you disconnected it, and the end of the wire harness that you disconnected. Then simply drill the desired hole in the truck side panel to install the connector. I'm always nervous when it comes to drilling holes in my truck, but as long as you use the right tools and follow the instructions…
