Not designed to last for external accessories

Worked about 3 years / 10,000 miles and then stopped working completely and I had no parking lights, brake lights and turn signals. Now we need to cut and replace.

Works on my BMW X5 04

Works great on my 2004 BMW X5. The only thing is sometimes you need to turn on the headlights on the car before connecting the trailer cable to the car to get the light on the trailer.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not bad

There are better options

Works. Doesn't seem to completely isolate all functions. Trailer headlights dim when blinking on opposite sides. Other converters I've used don't do this. It's not about land. The trailer can be perfectly combined with any other tractor.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine

This kit was supposed to have a built in fuse and extra wiring to connect to the battery power cable but it doesn't. So now I'm driving without a fuse and risking damaging my car's electrical system and I had to dig up the old wires to use for the power cord.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • write later

Easy to use on tow items and winches

With a little help I wired up the tail light converter in a few hours. The instructions are easy to follow and the cord is long enough for most vehicles. The box had all the necessary parts and parts of good quality. If there are questions about what to do, you can usually find a YouTube video that explains the whole thing.

You need more wire.

Very easy to follow instructions. The only problem was getting the cable from the converter to the battery (power source). In fact, all the wires are quite short. This was not clear from the original description. I'm a bit savvy with cables and was able to plug the power into an outlet in the cargo hold. after connecting everything worked fine.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Works like clockwork!

I have a 2003 BMW Z4 that I use to tow kayaks and I couldn't find an adapter for the trailer lights. None of the standard splice adapters will work as the car's taillights and brake lights are powered from the same wire. Then I found this Curt PWM splice adapter. It was easy to install using the included wire splices and double sided tape to secure it in place. Put it in my pendant and it works like a charm!

2011 Audi Q5 (Curt 56236 vs 56200)

A youtube video showing a Curt 56200 installed on a 2011 Q5 is a good place to start, but the 56200 doesn't have separate traction and brake cables like this product. But I found out. When the video says to connect the red wire 56200, put the brown (running) wire there. Then plug the red wire (brake) onto the gray wire with white stripe coming out of the same Audi connector and harness that the brown wire attaches to. All other wires should be the same as the 56200. I hope this saves someoneโ€ฆ

Tips for 2015 VW Sportwagen

Figuring out the right connections was a challenge. In case it's helpful to others, here's what I found out from speaking to Curt product support: On the driver's side, the yellow Curt input is connected to the black to red stripe in the VW rear connector wiring. Brown and red connect to the white ground wire, all three parts of the curt input. The Black Curt input connected to the CURT 55151 goes to the battery. On the passenger side, the green curt input connects to the black-purple in the VW

Pros
  • Towbar Accessory

  • I don't really like it, it's ok
