Works well, terrible instructions

Pros: Once installed, everything works exactly as it should. how to remove the rear light). The ones that come with it seem to skip important steps and have horrible tiny images. Find a video of installing another product (I used Mopar) and follow it as it tells you how to actually connect the battery and which panels to route the cable through. As other reviews mentioned the length of the battery cable: it was barely long enough for me, and crimping the end connector inside the taillight was a

Nice kit but difficult to install

Nice harness, well made, easy to use tail light connector and everything is included. The bad news is that installation is work. I'm pretty skilled and it took 3 hours. If I didn't have fishing tape to run the wire through the frame it would take longer. It wasn't very difficult, but it was a pain in the ass, like running a wire through the heat shield to the right tail light, from there to the frame rail, and from there to the front of the Jeep. Now that I've done it, I could probably do it…

Good product and easy to install

I don't know why there are so many complaints about the installation of this kit. Took me about 90 minutes from start to finish. Remove the two small covers on the back, unscrew the two screws that hold the taillights in place, pull out the taillights and disconnect the existing connectors. It's not difficult and the instructions are well written and illustrated. This part only took ten minutes. The kit comes with connectors that stick right where the factory ones fit. Then attach the ground…

Good product bad instructions

I hesitated to buy after some critical reviews but I will say that I do not regret the purchase. Before starting the installation, be sure to watch the product installation tutorial on YouTube if you have any doubts about the installation. E-Trailer had one that helped me avoid some trouble spots and made the installation easier. I estimate the installation time at 2 1/2 to 3 hours since I was very careful to do everything right with my new Jeep. I routed the power wire over the heat shield…

Best plan this in Wiring

first. I was hesitant to buy and install this myself, especially given some reviews that said the instructions were poor and the passenger turn signal plug wire was a bit short. But I'm a easygoing person and adventurous enough to even own a Jeep, so I decided to give it a try. I agree with the reviews that say the passenger side tail light connector wire could be 2-4 inches longer and that would make the whole installation much easier. However, what seemed to work well for me was "planning"…

Decent materials but instructions and packaging are TERRIBLE!

Beware of all the other reviews warning of completely ridiculous instructions and time requirements. This took about 4 hours, maybe 4.5 hours if you count the time spent searching YouTube for installation help. The instructions are very poorly written and incomplete and the photos were only marginally helpful. The package I received was missing some of the extra parts that were in Curt Mfg's instructions. I didn't have enough zip ties, double sided tape, a self tapping screw and a fuse. I had…

Think before you buy

I have purchased Curt wiring harnesses for my last two cars and have been very satisfied. Reviews about this model 56407 that were critical, but I bought it anyway. Unfortunately I would rate the instructions 1 star and the product 1 star. The passenger taillight had to be 10 inches longer and an extra wire was attached at the end. Then the black power wire that runs from the battery positive terminal to the rider's rear wiring harness is 10 inches shorter. In both cases they are partly right…
