Solid construction don't know why I read below

Hasn't been used for a few months, used recently, works great. When it came out the next morning, the USB ports didn't work no matter what, and two of the three ports on the left failed the performance test with my DMM. Shame as I thought it was beautiful and made to a high standard.

Unsafe Product - Power Strips and Surge Protectors

I bought two of these products in January 2019, loved the flexibility. But because it only has one plug on the back for plugging into a standard two-prong outlet and it's large, it feels loose when plugged in. After using one of these for about four months this morning, I found it roasted, filling the entire room with smoke and blackening the one foot diameter area around it. Fortunately, this did not start a fire. Now I don't trust this product and will not buy it again.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • No Insurance

Unsafe and unsuitable surge protector

This is an unsafe and unsuitable surge protector (unsafe because it could cause a fire). As you can see from my photos, this pulse is very prone to "flip" even with only one outlet plugged in. There is no way to securely attach it flush to the wall (e.g. with a simple plastic screw); it just hangs at a dangerous angle from the exit. Don't be fooled by the "plastic plug" for the top exit; It doesn't protect the hefty device from being tilted face down. I chose this surge protector because of the

Plugs directly into a wall outlet, REQUIRES two grounded connections

This will not present a problem for the vast majority of readers but pay special attention to the rear view of the product, both the plug and the small black pin halfway up. The small black prong is used to ground the second outlet - probably a feature for most users (ensuring stability), but an issue for me. I moved into an apartment with an outlet and a few USB ports next to the desk. . With only one outlet, I needed even more of a splitter, and I liked the idea of keeping USB charging…

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Not sure

You need a screw hole in the middle.

Would rate it a 5⭐️ if it had a hole in the center to secure it with a long screw on the internal thread in the centre attach the socket. The device uses only the bottom of the wall socket and therefore cannot satisfactorily support the weight of a large number of plugs. I had to use HVAC tape to secure the top of the unit to the wall - it moved a lot under the weight of the cables and could fall out of the socket. The tape makes the device look ugly, but it's now securely attached to the wall.

Pros
  • Compact design and pivoting outlets; 2 groups of swiveling outlets ideal for powering tight spaces like behind a bookshelf or desk
Cons
  • Expensive
