This is a great product and I would recommend it

This is a great product and I would recommend it. BUT remember that the X in the photo is the LARGE version (model 470XX) and not the LARGE version (model 470) which are different. Shown is 470XX (x-large) with flattened hook. Model 470 (large size) has a fully rounded hook. Check the Park Tools website for actual photos - they have a great picture showing all three together so you can get an idea of what you're getting. Have fun shopping!

Extremely Rough Conditions

I have a larger version of these hooks and they are definitely strong. I'm always a little paranoid about things falling from the ceiling in my car, so I wanted something that would be durable and that I could be sure was safe. But I also wanted to be able to adjust it however I wanted, so I didn't want to use regular lagging hooks. So I bought them and some spacers. The 10mm is a bit awkward to work with (most strut nuts are SAE, not metric, for example) and I would have preferred 3/8", butโ€ฆ

M10-1.5 bolt on for finished garage and walk in attic

I was specifically looking for a hook that bolted on rather than a large bolt. I have a relatively open attic above my garage with 2x4 joists and wanted to use this hook to hang ladders and my bike from the ceiling. I looked at a smaller and larger hook and found this to be a good compromise between price and size (not too small to make it difficult to hang and not too big to be unwieldy). The rubber coating is very thick and feels very durable. One thing not mentioned is the thread type. Thisโ€ฆ
