Great device for a mobile professional, power user or IT guru

I've been looking for something like this for a long time, something to carry in my laptop bag on the go and in my IT toolbox. This device has 3 operating modes with different uses. I wouldn't recommend this device unless you need to switch between these modes on the same device, but it does make good use of the feature. There is a client mode. This allows you to connect the device to the wireless network and connect it to the Ethernet port. This means you can connect a wired device to a…

Great for travel

Based on Leo Laporte's reviews and plugs on his Tech Guy Podcast I ordered one of these travel routers. I travel a lot and stay in hotels at least 3 nights a week. I also love my Chromecast and have 3 or 4 high speed internet devices. My previous solution was to use my Verizon smartphone as a hotspot on their 4G network and get up to 8GB of data per month. But now with my new pocket router, I can just plug it into the wired internet connection in my hotel room. and share the love with all my…

D-Link DAP-1350 Wireless-N Pocket Wireless Router

I don't know where this product could be widely available except Japan. Haven't come across an average hotel that has Wi-Fi yet. All hotels seem to have an ethernet cable system that cannot be used with tablet computers. This pocket router worked flawlessly with my iPad. Just plug your router's power adapter and hotel Ethernet cable into your router and you're good to go. I would highly recommend setting up your router at home before traveling. There are two parts to setup, the first part is to

Very useful travel router

Runs all functions except wifi repeater. Very compact, easy to set up, travel bag makes it convenient. The power adapter (5 volts and 2.5 amps) is quite large and can be overkill in terms of performance as the device can be powered from a much lower amperage USB port. Warning: The device is so light that the weight of the Ethernet cable can easily remove it from a table or shelf. I've also noticed that some regular ethernet connectors don't plug properly into the router's ethernet port and then

Questionable travel security (handle with care!)

This pocket router was purchased in August 2012 for intended travel use. I used it very rarely at first when I was in my office to connect to our network router to test some wireless devices and later needed it at home where it ran continuously for about a year before it failed was detected networking the router to which it was connected all the time. I used it once on a 3rd party site from a laptop and it connected instantly. The initial setup was more complicated than necessary from what I…

Great travel router

This is the perfect compact travel router. I can work in 3 different modes which is perfect. It acts as a router which is ideal for working in your hotel room to provide the added security that a router offers and it acts as an access point which is ideal for when you are in the office and need to interact with those working in Network office equipment such as printers or scanners. If you're looking for a small, lightweight travel router that has everything you need, I highly recommend this…

DOA power supply. Complicated setup.

I was very happy about this article, but was very disappointed. I plugged it in and started following the directions. I found it strange that there was no light. A few minutes later I switched to the USB cable and it caught fire. So I tried setting it up by following the instructions for Windows 7 but I still couldn't connect. I work with computers and networks, so I've done this a lot. I ended up connecting it to my Mac Pro and was able to log in with no problems, but had to update the…
