I put these shoes on my son and knew they wouldn't fit. Yes they are very light but there is no support for the foot. The insole of the shoe is flat and firm. I didn't like the design of the shoes. My biggest complaint is the lack of comfort. If you have your own insoles or arch supports and need roomy shoes, this particular style may come in handy. I bought the pink size 5.5 for my 1.5 year old daughter. They fit her perfectly and she plays with the velcro but doesn't take them off. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the elastic "fake" laces unraveled. My nanny discovered it 2 weeks after wearing shoes playing with long strands of pink fiber that came loose.
