Door Lock Actuator 746-603

The best and cheapest option for Toyota part 746-603. It feels solid, works really well and is perfect for a 2002 Rav 4. Only time will tell if it will hold up. However, this is a fraction of the Toyota OEM price; I would swap again.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Few details

Works and fits great!

Perfect for my 2003 Toyota RAV4. Not a particularly easy installation. So unless you're mechanically inclined, you might need some help. I was able to do this using a YouTube video but it can be a little tricky.

Replaced the one in my 2005 Toyota Rav4 after .

Replaced the one in my 2005 Toyota Rav4 after the driver's door stopped locking automatically. It wasn't hard for a DYI person, I just made it by watching some videos I found online. I struggled to get one of the metal knobs out of the little yellow plastic clip, but I found a video of a guy showing me how to slip a screwdriver through the door and knock it out. This was the only difficult part. The new part fitted perfectly, now the door lock works.

Perfect fit identical to OEM although wish it came with instructions

Perfect fit for my 2001 Toyota rav4, driver's side power door lock stopped working. When I press the lock or unlock button, all doors lock/unlock except the driver's door (probably because the driver's lock is usually unlocked by pressing the fob button once, so it goes off first). It took me a long time to understand how to replace the actuator. Be very careful if you try to do this yourself as the parts around him are very fragile and have a lot of moving parts. I wish there were instructions

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Rav 4 2001: Electric Door Lock

Installed by my mechanic on April 2nd, 2019 as I wasn't so sure while browsing youtube. a little and I'm glad I didn't do the job myself, it cost me $150. Since I wasn't allowed to film him, I took a picture after he finished the job. He told me it usually takes about 2 hours. The old part from Toyota was manufactured by OEM Aisin. He wasn't sure if the part I gave him would last more than 1 year as it's known to only last a few months. Now the device is working fine, but I'm not sure. How…

Excellent replacement part for the actuator. Fits like OEM.

It was the perfect OEM replacement. If you can do it yourself you will save hundreds of dollars. The shop charged $200 for the repair. You can learn how to do this by watching YouTube videos. There is a good video on removing the Rav 4 door panel. However, there are no videos on removing the actuator on Rav 4 2001-2005. But there are many videos on YouTube about the Highlander. This is the video that comes closest to you learning how to remove a Rav 4 drive. A good tip is to film or photograph…

Helps keep an old car on the road.

My Toyota will soon be 20 years old and is so reliable that I drive it into the ground. I've kept it on the road for nearly 300,000 miles, and while it's worth fixing (for me), it's not worth the serious money put into it. When the driver's door lock actuator stopped working, I found this. Good reviews, less than $20. I figured I could install it and if after six months it doesn't work anymore I'll redo the original and plug it back in. Well it's been over 9 months and the original is still on…

  • Easy to read control panel

  • I don't remember, but there was something

Runs like new - engines

I ordered a pair of front door locks to replace the broken ones on my 2005 Rav4. The first units weren't Dade, and there was an awkward rattle coming from the driver's side. Ordered a Dade part to replace a broken driver's side unit. The Dade part is assembled and finished much better than the other parts I have ordered. After installing the mechanisms, my locks would not respond to pressing the unlock button on the key fob or door lock control handle. After searching the Rav4world forums, it…

Only lasted 2 years

In 2014, after 9 years of use, the original door lock actuator failed. I opened it up and replaced the motor for about $5. The case halves are glued together so after installing the new motor I used hot melt to assemble it as I figured a very thick layer of glue on all sides would hold it in place. In June 2017 it started making a grinding noise so I ordered this part from Revain. When I uninstalled the old part to install the new one, I found the problem. To my surprise, the hot melt adhesive…
