There is a complete jerk!

We tied up a surfboard and rode a mile at 35 mph. Incredible shaking happened! We ended up borrowing ratchet straps. We certainly wouldn't try that on the Autobahn. We also missed the return window by two days! Very disappointed.

Best for SUP and longboards

I have to tie down 4 14 foot SUP boards and drive at higher speeds on the freeway. They hold the boards well and are very safe due to the extra width. I've been using them almost every weekend for 3 years and they show no signs of wear. I had to buy another set as one was lost.

Great straps for your surfboard!

I use them to attach a surfboard to the roof of a car. it's awesome! The ones I had before I couldn't stretch hard enough. I had to stop at the side of the freeway to pull it up. However, I can get a lot more leverage with the Dakine straps and tighten them a lot more with almost no effort. They keep my board nice and safe. That's great!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons

Thick straps, heavy

The strap is definitely more durable than previous versions. It's also a lot heavier than 1 inch wide straps, which is a bit of a shame as it takes up more room in my luggage when traveling overseas. If I had to do it again I would buy the original 1" wide version for travel. It would be better to use this locally as I tie up to 4 surfboards and don't have a roof rack on my car.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Negative impression

Great quality for cycling

The item arrived quickly and matches the seller's description. The straps are good and wide so my board(s) can be securely attached. The straps also appear to be of good quality. The straps are very long (12ft) and can easily hold 3 or more boards. However, this poses a small problem if you are only carrying one board as it requires a lot of extra straps to tie it down. The soft buckles really help prevent damage to the boards and car.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Great price

star buckles! - Sport

I recently bought 2 SUPs and needed straps to attach them to the roof of my 2008 Tahoe. I was a bit skeptical as I had never heard of this brand before but I have to say these are top notch straps. Worth every penny. They sync up very well and I was driving the interstate at 70mph. I stopped twice on my way on my 4 hour trip and didn't have to tighten them at all. There are complaints of pads getting in the way, but I have no complaints about that. Poetry exists for a reason. Who cares if it…

Good but not great - Accessories

Everything is fine with this system if you like through passages. There is quality and durability. The neoprene pad works very well. This is one piece, however, so you'll need to thread the 12ft strap through the roof racks and lift it over the board, keeping the locking piece straight and in one place. Translation: You run around your car trying to lock this thing. Since it is a pull system and not a ratchet system, you can only tighten it very firmly. I have a Yukon, so I have to stretch…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
