DANCO Sink Pop-Up Stopper, Plastic with Chrome Finish - 1-Pack Review

Went to a large store nearby looking for a replacement for an old kitchen sink plug. The available ones did not fit (as it turned out from personal experience). In the end I decided to look it up on the internet and give it a try. It's wearable. It's narrow enough for my Moen sink. It was easy to install and I'm just happy with it. I will buy another one as I need to renovate another sink.

How do I break these things? I have no idea, but you'll have to ask my kids. Anyway they were broken and when I went to the big box depot they had no matches (too long). I went to a plumbing store where I originally bought plumbing and it wasn't there either (special order). Saw it at Revain, found it to be the same size, and 18 hours after hitting the 'order' button. BOOM! installed and works great.

The product description states that the stopper size is 4 1/2 inches. This is not the case and the actual packaging shows that it measures 5 inches. It will be returned. I'm glad it worked for so many reviewers, but if a picture of the back of the box had been shown and the correct measurements had been given in the description I would not have ordered it. I had to go to Home Depot to get a matching Danco 80418 (4 1/2") plug for my 30 year old Moen sink faucet.

Wrong dimensions. When I received this, the product dimensions listed on the back of the box were 1.2 inches wide by 5 inches long. Why they don't show a picture of the packaging with these product dimensions on Revain is puzzling. It's very frustrating that they don't list the correct product dimensions. It worked great as a replacement for my Moen sink plug. All I had to do was pull out the old stopper assembly and put it in, being careful of the orientation. This plug closes well, doesn't leak when the sink is full, and lifts enough when the plunger behind the faucet is down. The metal cap is only slightly smaller in diameter than the old cork, but that doesn't seem to matter. The washer seals and fits great. This is a great purchase for the price.

I'm sure there are different sizes of sink drains but you would think that these drain plugs are a bit generic. Not the case at all. This plug prevents H2O from going down the drain. As you can see in the photo, this happens an hour after passing through the same amount of water that has not yet been drained. Spend a few bucks more for something genuine and more versatile.
