You could say this isn't a good precision machined puller set but I'm not a professional mechanic and I only needed one set to remove a couple of bearings from a washing machine. and gaskets on the outboard motor propeller shaft. They're sturdy enough for my odd jobs and were one of the cheapest sets I could find. No complaints.

Photo shows the puller is beveled like an engine valve. The bearings also have beveled edges. When attempting to pull out a stuck bearing, the mandrel collapses and pops out. The metal is surprisingly harder than expected. It can work well on bushings so I'll leave it there, but the quest for a puller that actually pulls continues. This item is cheap and even the largest could not remove the bearing raceway from the Dana 44. Also, if you tighten the handle to expand the rim, the disc splits into three triangles, but is unevenly cut so it doesn't engage evenly or only in one piece (because it could barely engage the edge of the track, causing the disc slipped out of the bearing/bearing ring and like me could pinch my thumb on the transfer case.

In my set the teeth on the ends of the puller were not cut properly leaving 2 large and 1 small leg. Poorly cut ends will not hold the bearing properly when flared, and small legs will deform due to uneven pressure. For this to work you need a lot of heat to make the tool easier to work with. The big ends looked ok but I didn't need them.

I purchased this item to add to my tool arsenal as it turned out to be of good quality. I recently felt the need to use it and found out the opposite. The 25mm collet I needed was not made properly and was only open on one side of the perforations. The conical clearance in the tool head is not seated correctly and pushes the dowel out on one side. Unfortunately, I only found out about this after the return period for the tool had expired. Would happily return it if I could, I hope other collets

My wife changed engines in her jeep and the replacement engine she got had a guide bearing. She rented a puller from O'Reillys, a two-finger puller, and a heavy-duty slide hammer. Even with a little finesse, the puller didn't get behind the bearing. So we ordered this set and I can only say that it served its purpose, everything fitted perfectly. I was surprised that it held up to the abuse I put it through that the bearing wasn't clamped properly there. Great product for the price!
