Save $$ Use this product

I had to turn the steering wheel with both hands and after using this product I can use one finger. The effects of this product last for 3 weeks after the first application. The boat is stored outside in the AZ. I couldn't get the steering cable out so I just drilled a hole in the existing bolt, pushed it in and used it.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Some problems

Not suitable for 2015 Tohatsu 4-stroke 50 hp engine.

The nut did not fit on the side that the instructions said should have. I drilled a hole in the middle of the tube and lengthened the handlebars, added oil (hack) and clamped it with rubber. Some oil comes out at the other end. You need to buy a washer for caulking. Can't return it as I used oil and used the washer that came with it and put it in the linkage.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Can't afford power steering on a boat? Look no further.

Like many of you, I was looking for power steering options for my 20 foot War Eagle. Up until that particular day, I found a Davis Instruments 420 Cable Buddy. This stuff is so slippery and wet and wet, wait, this wasn't meant to be a love story. let me switch; You won't find a product on the market that looks more like power steering than this material.

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Cable Buddy saved my Yamaha F40 steering cable

My steering cable was stuck and difficult to turn due to corrosion. I have a Yamaha F40 outboard. After investigating the issue, I quickly realized that I could try cleaning it first before replacing the entire cable, which is quite expensive. I disassembled the cable from the steering column and then sprayed a ton of WD40 on the cable itself. I also cleaned the steering column. Cable Buddy is easy to install and works great! The Cable Handlebar now rotates easily! This system works really…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Update available

OK I'M THINKING about oars and sails

Not very impressed. I followed the instructions for the letter "T". I cleaned everything, drilled a hole, installed the nut and the instructions said it would hold up to 1/2 bottle of liquid. Well, it only took about 1/4 of a bottle, but only with a full turn of the steering wheel in one direction. Turning in the opposite direction will push all the liquid back into the bottle. After filling in everything we could and zipping up the rig, most of what was filled leaked out both ends of the tie…
