Some information is difficult to read.

Although this item appears to be quite durable, the printing on some parts of the card is sooooo small that the information is difficult to read. Not too useful at night or in inclement weather.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Crumpled

Not for this sailor.

I am a freshwater boat enthusiast and this is a must have for the advanced boater. Most diagrams are illegible, small print and not clearly explained. I think I will have to send it back. If I had to pull it out in a panic I would probably land on the rocks.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Invaluable to the Coast Guard or Marines

When I worked for the Coast Guard I needed to memorize all the rules of navigation in a short time and I used this chart more than a real navigation manual. However, I suggest getting a manual as well to better understand the illustrations. Whether you are a fisherman, a sailor or an ordinary person who only fishes on the weekends, it is important to understand the rules of navigation.

Pros
  • Automotive Electronics

Easy to read, straight to the point

As a professional sailor, I bought this reference chart to prepare for an exam and to keep my knowledge of traffic rules from atrophying. It's very well structured, easy to read and pretty much contains everything you need to know before you get in the water. It's made of hard plastic, so you don't have to protect it from the elements. I recommend this to anyone who is on the water regularly and needs quick help to ensure they avoid collisions and/or make fools of themselves in tight quarters…

Pros
  • Marine GPS Accessories
Cons
  • Very Expensive
