Surprisingly fast shipping. The product appears to be very durable and will no doubt work well. In addition, it is suitable for a variety of rope sizes.

Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Afraid of sporting use

As other reviewers have noted, the entire interior is very rough, attached with velcro and can bite the webbing. I went back and bought Cape Hatteras instead. Maybe not as strong on the outside, but at least not as hard on the line.

Pros
  • Prevents chafing on spikes, cap bar where two lines cross, or anchor roller
Cons
  • Not all will fit

One of the best purchases a boat owner/enthusiast can make

One of the best purchases a boat owner/enthusiast can make. These things do exactly what they were designed to do, to make a profit. I can't tell you how many times people on the water ask us where we got them, how they work etc. Great product.

Pros
  • Offers maximum flexibility to be installed anywhere on the line; easy to move when needed
Cons
  • Secret

Hard scuff guard

Several ropes have been purchased in the last 4 years. They protect your lines very well at the contact point. They will wear out after a few years but can take a fair amount of sawing. Not sure about those reviews saying velcro hooks break the line? The hooks should not come into contact with the fishing line when installed correctly.

Pros
  • Suitable for 3/8-1 inch (10-25mm) braided and twisted rope
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Heavy-duty chafing guard

This product is well made and does the job well. I noticed that one of the cables on our little tug was frayed, so I bought them. Velcro is not easy to separate what you need. It takes a few minutes to place/install them correctly, but after that they stay in place. If I need more I will buy these again.

Pros
  • 100% internal Velcro secures the leash with nylon webbing on the outside to protect against chafing
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Wear Guard - Boating & Sailing

I have now purchased 3 of these guards and they continue to work very well. The oldest unit I have is over 16 months old and took a long time to complete. Punishment during this period by strong tidal currents in the marina, which constantly made the boat rock. She has proven herself very well, and apart from being able to move a little with difficulty in one position after several months, I can recommend to all yacht owners who Oldest protection is still in use, although quite worn now, willโ€ฆ

Excellent dock line protection

Bought these for use in New Jersey last year (April to October season). They worked great and still work! I use them in the area where my 1/2" connector lines intersect with the outboard/propeller when trimmed. The material is thick and the velcro straps are very strong and run the full length of the protector. I had to adjust the position this season and that wasn't a problem. The Velcro came loose, unfolding the cover from the tether and moving. Everything was closed again. I am now buying aโ€ฆ
