You can lose your camera if you can't let go of the monopod.

I attached a ball head camera mount and thank god not my camera. Part were the tripod screws at the base of the camera, which just twisted and twisted. I had to take the head off to find that there was no adjustment on the underside of the tripod screw, as if there was nothing to hold onto or loosen. After wrestling with it for a while, I finally got it to let go of the ball head and took it off. I don't know what I did, but you'd better check this before going with an expensive camera…

Good but returned: Monopods

Bought 3 monopods to compare and choose the best. This took third place. It and the Monopole 500 were longer when closed (21.5 inches) than the Manfrotto (20 inches). It was high enough and the sections closed well. One test I did was after the pole was fully extended, I gave the pole a sharp rap on the carpeting several times to see if the latches had slipped off. Two of them did so right away, but that was easy to predict as the locks didn't tighten them when closing. The fact that it didn't…

Works best with tripods and monopods

I have used this as both a walking stick and a camera monopod. too heavy to load. The telescopic locks are not strong enough to load my full weight of 200+ pounds as too much weight will cause them to collapse. But as a stabilizer on hiking trails it's serviceable and with my aching knees I find it serviceable despite this shortcoming. Otherwise it feels well made and is in every way more stable than I expected for the price. As a monopod it works. The bottom has a pointed metal tip with a…

Good value monopod

I use this monopod with a high end point and shoot with a superzoom camera. The monopod helps stabilize the camera at slow shutter speeds and/or when zooming in. The monopod features 3 fully adjustable, expandable sections made from durable metal and a hand strap attached at the top next to the foam handle. There is a sharp metal tip on the bottom that can be used outdoors to secure the monopod. An attached plastic shield screws on to surround the metal point when not in use. The product comes…

GREAT monopod for beginners

I admit I was a bit wary of the $20 monopod but this product made me happy. and optically simple: matt black, with a beautiful black foam handle. It stretches very well (I'm 6'4" and when fully stretched it's above my eye level). There are three handles for unlocking/locking. and the finish isn't "premium" at all - it feels a bit cheap to the touch - but doesn't feel like it's going to break any moment I'm sure if this item is handled roughly it may bend or be damaged but if you are…
